Background

Inspired by the maker movement, Epitomical was born in April, 2012 in an effort to build products and services that would seek to achieve our goals through technology, design and operational innovation. Our long-term goals are to focus on rapidly advancing technologies that have a broad potential scope as well as the prospects to bring about significant economic value. With billions yet to be connected to the World Wide Web, trillions in economic value and immeasurable social impact to be created, we believe that we have endless opportunities to add value in the years to come.

The ‘company’ undertook it’s early research efforts on emerging consumer technologies. These included areas such as Additive Manufacturing (3D Printing) and Wearable technologies that continue to receive venture funding and significant press coverage in the broader marketplace. Given the uncertainties around market acceptance and the lifecycle of product development in these new markets, the ‘company’ divided its focus across two adjacent and synergistic areas – Established Opportunities such as Smartphones, Tablets, Accessories & Software and Emerging Opportunities such as in the field of Wearable Technologies and Additive Manufacturing. We continue to invest time, money and labour in both these areas.

Brand

Spur is a brand of Epitomical Limited. The brand represents the public face of a technology and design company that is deeply committed to inspiring both young and old, enabling education to the masses and promoting innovation. Today we deliver Smartphones, Tablets and accessories at a fraction of the cost of the market while still bringing a full service offering to our customers.

Spur

Our brand logo is inspired by Daedalus and his son Icarus of Greek Mythology. Daedalus was a master craftsman and artist often credited as the father of carpentry. Icarus, symbolized the romantic artist both passionate and rebellious. We are centered and hence less Icarus and more Daedalus. The brand name Spur represents both parts, noun and verb form of the English word Spur.

With headquarters in Guildford, Surrey you will find us spread North and East across London and to the heart of London’s Tech City. Yet, we are a team spanning the globe with groups and individuals based in California in the West to Taiwan in the East. We are Engineers, Designers, Entrepreneurs and Marketers all with a passion of creating rewarding experiences.
