Early Victory at CeBit

To align the world’s annual CeBit conference with a kind of technological Olympics might be overreaching somewhat – especially since our participation in the 2014 event was less driven by competitive spirit, and more focused on establishing new personal goals and obtaining consumer and market feedback amid the surrounding competition. Nevertheless, it is surely one of the greatest event in the world’s technology calendar – and, backed by UKTI, we rose to the occasion for our first event: representing the United Kingdom (the event’s partner country) with six alpha products including our first-generation Obi4 Smartphone and Atomic Smartwatch prototypes at the expo.

With enough gadgetry on demonstration to entice James Bond, one might have expected Daniel Craig to drop in through a skylight … he didn’t. We were, however, thrilled to have our stand at the showcase visited by David Cameron and Angela Merkel who came out to show their support. A fantastic result for us then, loaded with inspiration and useful ideas to carry forward. Success is very much a relative term; but when we reached the finish of the event we absolutely felt like winners – though, modesty prevents us from calling our stand at CeBit a podium …
